INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL INFORMATION

Who will organize my flight to Argentina?
You will need to arrange your own flight though we can make suggestions to help. We recommend booking your plane ticket well in advance to get the best price. Internet discounters normally have the best fares. Keep in mind that your final destination is Córdoba city and consider the option of getting an open return ticket to have flexibility on your return date. There are two options to arrive in Córdoba:

1) From Santiago de Chile via LAN Chile airline. LAN is safe and modern and usually has good discounts. LAN is a codeshare partner with American which can make travel from the US easier.

2) From Buenos Aires (710km from Córdoba), either via plane (departing from another airport) or by bus (which is cheaper at only US$ 30 in very comfortable buses).
Once you have arrived at Ezeiza international airport, in Buenos Aires, you have to go to Jorge Newbery domestic airport to fly domestically or to Retiro bus station for a bus (both of them are 35 km from Ezeiza airport). . If you decide to come by bus, we can give you further instructions and suggestions. In either case, a representative from our organization will pick you up from either the Cordoba airport or bus station.

Where do I need to arrive?
All participants must arrive in Córdoba airport or bus station. Nobody from our organization could pick you up from another place. If you arrive in Buenos Aires, you take another plane to Córdoba or go to the Bus station in Buenos Aires and buy a bus ticket to Córdoba. It is not necessary to book a bus in advance.

When must I arrive in Argentina?
Whenever you want. For example, you can arrive some days before starting the program so that you can visit Buenos Aires and then take a plane or bus to Córdoba. You just need to let us know when and where. However, if possible, we suggest touring the country once you have finished with your program (rather than before) as you will be much more familiar with our country , our language and our people at that point.

Will someone pick me up at the Córdoba airport or bus station? If so, who?
Once you let us know your travel schedule to Córdoba, a representative from Fundación AFOS with whom you previously have been in contacted via e-mail, including a photo exchange, will pick you up at the airport or bus station and take you to your lodging. It will be easy to recognize each other after interchanging photos of each other. In the unlikely event that there are last minute problems (yours or ours), you will have our office and cell phone numbers to call us from any phone booth as well as your lodging address so at worst you just can take a taxi to your lodging and we will reimburse it.

What should I do if my flight is delayed or if I do not see anybody at the airport or bus station?
If there is a normal delay, we will be waiting anyway. In the unlikely event that you arrive after midnight , have any last minute problem or fail to meet us, you will have your lodging address so you just take a taxi to your lodging.
