INFORMATION ABOUT APPLICATIONS
 |
When must I apply for the internship, volunteering or language programs?
Our application process is quite easy and fast and usually takes no more than 2 weeks. We recommend planning and applying as far ahead as possible to ensure your NGO of choice has room for you and to take advantage of cheaper advance purchase international airfares. You simply need to fill out our online application form (in Spanish if possible) attaching a resume or CV if available. Within 2 weeks we will send you a customized proposal including program details and fees.
If you have questions, we can communicate most easily via email, which we check every day. If you decide to participate in the proposed program, you simply transfer the requested fees for confirmation, book a flight, and start preparing for the unforgettable experience you will live. Between your acceptance and your travel date we will be exchanging frequent e-mails to answer any questions you may have and to help you to prepare.
On your arrival, a representative from Fundación AFOS with whom you have been exchanging emails will pick you up at the airport or bus station and will take you to your lodging where you will meet all the members from our organization and any other program participants.
What are the requirements to participate in the programs?
The only requirements are a minimum age of 18 and a reasonable knowledge of Spanish to be able to interact with local people (although we can also arrange intensive language courses for those who need them).
What must I consider when requesting a visa for Argentina?
Argentina does not require a Visa for citizens from most Western countries. If you stay for longer than 3 months, you will have to extend your tourist Visa for another 3 months at the Córdoba Immigration office by paying a US$ 30 tax. If you are unsure if you need a Visa, please visit www.projectvisa.com for a complete and-up-to date list of Visa requirements for Argentina.
A valid passport is required to enter Argentina . Argentina does not allow entrance if the holder's passport expires in less than six months; returning home with an expired passport is illegal, and may result in a fine as well.
Do I need medical insurance?
Yes, as a program requirement you need health coverage throughout your program. Your home country coverage is acceptable if it covers you abroad; if not we can arrange for health coverage for you here. This coverage includes medical and dental consultations, emergencies, hospitalization and surgeries. It does not include civil liability or life insurance. If you are a student intern we suggest you ask whether you are covered abroad by a family or university policy. If you do bring medical insurance from your country, we will ask you for any necessary information we should know in case of any health problem.
In Argentina medical facilities are generally of a high standard in main cities and towns and no vaccinations are required to enter the country. You can also obtain standard Western and traditional medications. As with any foreign travel, we do recommend you consult with your doctor before your trip to Argentina. |
