ACCOMMODATION INFORMATION

Where will I stay?
AFOS offers a variety of accommodation options, according to the needs, tastes and budget of each participant. However, even though our basic packages include lodging without meals, the accommodations we offer are not obligatory. This means that our program participants can take on their accommodation through AFOS, by themselves or, as long term program participants frequently do, hiring accommodation with AFOS for one (minimum) or two months and then find by themselves accommodation according to their own needs and budget.

What accommodation options does AFOS offer?

• AFOS Residence
The foundation office and residence that accommodates up to 10 guests in four rooms, two bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen (where participants can prepare their own meals), dining room, living room, patio with grill and a large garage where the Spanish and Tango classes take place. Aimed at young people and students who wish to share experiences with other international participants.

The residence is located 10 minutes walk from downtown and features Internet access with Wi-Fi, phone, TV, bed linen and equipped kitchen. See photos.

• Student apartment
For those seeking more private options AFOS offers the possibility of staying in apartments or houses shared with local students, located in the vicinity of downtown and AFOS residence, about 15-20 minutes either by public transport or walking. Typical amenities are shared bathroom and kitchen, TV, bed linen and living room.

• Family homes
For participants wishing to be more immersed in the lifestyle of a local family, AFOS offers the possibility of homestays. In general, families are middle class, they speak a little English and their houses are farther from the city center (about 30-40 minutes by bus) but with adequate public transport to travel to the office (for Spanish language classes or meetings) and to the volunteer or internship projects.

• Hostels, hotels or furnished apartments
For those participants who want more independence, comfort and location (either in the city center or close to the office), AFOS offers accommodation with amenities for all tastes and budgets. See examples and costs in the table below.

Which are the accommodation costs?

All accommodations are subject to space availability.

Do I have to accept the accommodation offered by Fundación AFOS?
No. Accommodation offered AFOS is independent of the program, despite the fact that program costs include it. Therefore, if you wish to find your own accommodation since the beginning (without the help of AFOS), you will only pay a flat fee (in advance) for your whole volunteer or internship program and just a registration fee for your language program.

Can I change the accommodation provided by AFOS if I am not satisfied?
Yes. This has never been a problem, but If you are dissatisfied you can request a change. We will do our best to accommodate you quickly but please understand this might take a few days for us to arrange. If during your program you find lodging on your own that you prefer to that we offer, you are free to move, we simply require a 15 day notice.

What are the amenities of my lodging?
They are likely similar to those in your home country, although more basic in some cases. All houses have electricity as well as hot and cold running water.

If I want to arrive before the program starts, where would I stay and how would I arrange my lodging?
If you want to stay for some days in another city (for example in Buenos Aires), you will need to arrange your own lodging, although we can help you with suggestions. If you want to spend some days in Córdoba city before starting your program, we can also provide lodging.
